I watched

X-Men III at the weekend. Didn't get a chance to see it at the cinema, and the DVD seemed to be kept at an artificially high price for quite a while. Once it was less than a tenner I though 'I'm avin some of that'. Fucking loved it. Why was everyone saying it was shit? I'm not happy that my favourite X-Person got killed about ten minutes into the film but there was a good dramatic reason for it to happen. I thought it was far superior to the rather lacklustre X-Men II but then I appear to have been in the minority over that one as well.

Who's your favourite X-person? Not bloody Cyclops? I've never been a massive X-fan (Morrison run excepted) but he's Nigel's favourite too... and I never understood the appeal. Always seemed a bit of a whiney loser to me. ;-)
Anyway, he's not dead... you never see a body, do you?

P.S. The film wasn't as bad as it might have been... but they bungled Dark Phoenix... and the less said about Vinne J, the better.

Bod: Thanks for the back up mate :)

Rol i Poos: Yep Cyclops is my fave x-man. Always has been. You see whiny loser, I see conflicted leader who'd rather have as normal life as possible, but feels honour bound to try and bring about the dream of the mentor who saved him from a life of crime. As for Dark Phoenix, let's face it, you couldn't have Dark Phoenix as it was done in the comics without at least another two films worth of exposition. I liked Vinnie too. Bitch! :D

Well, I realy liked X2...

I didn't hate the third one, but it's one of the few cases where I think they could have added thirty minutes to a film flesh it out a bit and make it more enjoyable.

(chanting:) X-men 2! X-Men 2!, X-Men 2!

Actually, I love all three movies, but the second one really appealed to me. Give it the test of time. Perhaps I'll see it differently when I know x-men 3 as well as the others.

I watched that the other night. When Wolverine walks towards Jean, near the end, I was close to tears. I put it down to knowing the comic book background to their relationship.

Fucking good film though.
