Mate, it's more likely you'll see Marvel and DC toys heading back down towards this scale. Oil prices being so high means it costs a shitload more to make our favourite plastic frippery than it ever used to.
You're referring to his resemblance to a snowtrooper?
It is actually the armour worn by the Republic's Galactic Marines and is usually olive drab. They're the clones that wasted Ki Adi Mundi at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
Obviously they've taken their cue from the Snowtrooper design but there are subtle differences.
Ah right. See, I've yet to see Revenge..., so I wouldn't have seen the SnowCloneTrooer. My mistake. I should have known better than challenge a Star Wars geek!
Charlotte Church has reportedly donated £5,000 to a Star Wars-themed church in Wales.
Two brothers, Barney and Daniel Jones from Anglesey, asked the singer for the cash to help complete their plans for a Church of the Jedi on the island.
Barney told the Daily Star: "As children we always watched the Star Wars films. And we noticed that there were a couple of sites on the internet, Jedi Church sites.
"Now we can’t wait to make a UK church where like-minded people can worship. My brother and I will wear the Jedi robes - the dark brown ones. The congregation will be in black, to bring a sense of unity to the meetings.
"The services will include sermons on The Force, light saber training, and meditation techniques."
Church's partner Gavin Henson was reportedly unsure about the investment initially but is now backing his girlfriend's decision.
A source commented: "To begin with, he was a bit baffled. But there’s no point in him stopping her. He can’t win.
"He’s amused by her eccentric decision and is behind her all the way. Barney and Daniel are determined to make her money go as far as possible. And they are eternally grateful to her for funding their dream."
K: That's right, never challenge a star wars geek. Particularly one that's actually seen all six of the films! :p
Danny, I'd heard mutterings about the theatrical release, I think it's a bit of a fucking cheek really.
As for the charlotte church story, brilliant! Especially this bit...

Because you can just imagine Gavin Henson the rugby player trotting out that final sentence while having a pint of whiskey poured in his ears and a tree being shoved up his arse.*
Naw, I was talking the toys, because it was the only Stormtrooper I ever owned (I had a Tie pilot, and AT-AT/AT-ST pilot, but they don't quite count do they? :D ). It was an awesome figure, too, but marred slightly by the dodgy vehicle it had (the weird flippy thing with two massive wheels).

I wish they produced these the same size as the Marvel Legends figures. Probably a good thing they don't, I'd be bankrupt.
(Nice to see some cloth being used as well instead of plastic cloaks which I hate)

Surely yon fella on t'right is not a Clone Trooper per se?

The one on the left looks a right ponce.
He said that if he ever sees you he's going to customize his rifle by giving it a brown muzzle! :D

Star Wars will return to cinemas this August in an animated movie titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars, reports Variety.
The 100-minute feature will take place between the events of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith and include characters from the prequel franchise such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala.
The story will then switch to television with 30-minute "mini-movies" that will premiere on Cartoon Network.
"I felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell," said creator George Lucas in a press release.
"I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward."
Lucas will oversee production of the film and television series which will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut in theatres on August 15.

Hang on, so is this "new" movie actually just the cartoon from a couple of years ago that the Samurai Jack bloke did?
aw don't they look cute!
That was the wrong thing to say wasnt it? :)
Weren't the Snowtroopers originally called Imperial Stormtroopers?
Snowtroopers are Imperial Stormtroopers in cold weather gear.
I'm sure that my old-school Empire snowtrooper just had Imperial Stormtrooper on it, but the plain old frowny blokes were just Stormtroopers.
I think you're right mate. I think they were imperial stormtroopers to begin with. I thought we were talking in the films rather than the toys.
(nice to see you can still occasionally geek out despite being all grown up an dat!) :p
